Hotel Brimer

Tucked away in the lush heart of Luxembourg’s “Little Switzerland”, the warmly welcoming Hotel Brimer is the ideal spot for nature lovers, gourmets, families and anyone in search of a charming, peaceful retreat in a beautiful region.

Four generations of the Brimer family have been guardians of this special spot since 1908, imbuing it with their special blend of natural hospitality, local knowledge and attention to detail.

The Brimer’s restaurant is renowned for its refined, classic French cooking and the hotel also offers guests a well-equipped wellness centre, including a delightful indoor pool with forest views.

From the fresh seasonal flowers and fruit that greet you at reception, to cosy spaces to sit and enjoy the view, the convivial bar and the sunny, riverfront terrace, this timeless traditional inn is a place where guests feel instantly at home: so much so that many return year after year.

Hotel Brimer offers four categories of room. All are very generously sized and well-equipped, with large bathrooms and thoughtful decorative touches. All rooms feature LED TV, a minibar, hairdryer and safe and all guests enjoy free parking.

The Mullerthal region is renowned for its spectacular landscapes, full of wooded hills and forest trails, fantastical rock formations, caves, streams and waterfalls. Popular with hikers (the Mullerthal hiking trail covers 112 kilometres), it is also the perfect spot for mountain or tour biking and canoeing and there are numerous golf courses in the region, whilst braver guests can take the plunge and swim in the cool waters of Echternach lake.

Visit charming, unspoiled towns and villages such as historic Echternach or Larochette, whilst Beaufort castle, which dates back to the 11th century, is a short drive away and open to visitors. The nearby (25-30km) Luxembourg Ardennes are home to stunning national parks and medieval castles, but also to some of the Grand Duchy’s best gastronomy, including local hams, honey and mustard and beers from artisanal microbreweries. The Brimer is also only 35 kilometres from the fortified old city of Luxembourg, a UNESCO world heritage site. Wine lovers will enjoy tours and tastings in the hilly vineyards of the Moselle valley wine-making region.

Further afield, guests can visit the fascinating city of Metz, boasting 3000 years of history, or Trier, home to spectacular Roman remains, including the Porta Nigra and Roman baths.
